Pioneer Growers Cooperative, design/build, Edwards Construction, Belle Glade, Florida, Demolish 80% of the original 1955 packing house and rebuild over three phases.
Phase 1 – a 120,000 SF +/- vegetable processing facility (corn, green beans & radishes), reduced to a 35,000 SF insulated tilt-wall, refrigerated Corn Tray-Pack facility. Scope included operations from unloading field trucks to completed tray-pak operations & cold storage. Our scope includes schematic planning, permit and construction documents and limited construction administration.
Phase 2 – 43,500 sf vegetable receiving canopy and 10,500 sf Hydrocooler and canopy connection to existing building.
Phase 3 – Demo remaining original building and remote office building and add 37,500 vegetable cold storage, 12,000 sf processing and a two story office.
